Is it just me or did the weekend go by fast? It feels like it did because I can't believe tomorrow's Monday again! Oh boy, time to face another week. Sigh.

These leatherette lace-up combat boots are thee ultimate too-cool-for-school shoes. We're loving the woven fair isle print cuff which sets it apart from the rest. With its zip-up closure along the back you'll be zippin' your way outta class and straight into detention. We kid, we kid. Oh and we can't forget to mention that you can fold up the boot if you're not feeling too fair isle that day. Shaft height when cuffed: 7 inches. Women's whole & half sizes. All Man Made Material. Imported.

It comes in three colors: Black, Natural, and Whisky.

I've mentioned quite a few times how badly I wanted a pair of Doc Martens. It was actually on my Christmas wishlist seen here. That is why I am beyond thrilled that I came across this. It's the perfect inexpensive substitute!

Boots are my go-to footwear so you can bet that I've been sporting this lace-up beauty nonstop. It's stylish, it's comfortable, and it's true to size. I got it in my usual size and it fits nicely.

Of course, I can't forget to mention the two awesome ways to wear it! You can leave it unfolded for a rocker look or you can fold it to show off the colorful woven print for a laidback look.

It has a zipper on the back and it has buttons on both sides. One on top to conveniently secure the flaps and two on the bottom for when you want it folded.

The boots have 1 inch heels as well which I happen to love! I don't wear shoes with heels too often so it's good these have them.

How did I style it?

I wore this with the boots unfolded for school a few days ago. I loved how the boots gave this girly outfit an edgy vibe. I paired my favorite denim shirt with a floral skirt (both from Old Navy) and I belted it (thrifted) for a pop of color. I accessorized with a statement necklace (Forever 21), stud earrings (gift), gold stackable rings (gift), and a brown crossbody bag (borrowed from sister).

84th Annual Academy Awards fashion.

Let's talk about my favorite awards show! The Oscars was held Sunday night at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood. I was so excited to watch it! Being a movie buff, it's definitely one of the things I look forward to every year. I was pretty satisfied with the winners like The Artist for Best Picture, but it would have been nice if Harry Potter won an award.

Fashion-wise, it wasn't spectacular. It was kind of a bummer since I expected to see amazing ensembles. Anyways, here are my picks:

How's your week going? I, for one, feel so drained already! I need a vacation ASAP. Thank goodness Spring Break is coming real soon.

Moving on, I haven't done a product review for awhile so here's one:

Keeps Your Hair Rockin’ One More Day

The secret is you don’t have to shampoo everyday! Spray at roots to absorb excess oils, make hair smell fresh and keep it rockin’ one more night. This stuff is so funktabulous!

I picked this up at Ulta a couple of weeks ago. I can't remember the price, but I do remember that it was a bit expensive. I've been wanting to try dry shampoo, so I went for it.

Pros: I usually shower a lot to avoid having oily hair and I know that's not advisable, so it's good to have this product around. DIRTY SECRET protects my hair from sunlight and heat. It smells great and it also doesn't stain on clothes, which is a plus.

Con: The product is a little sticky.

To Use: Shake can well. Spray throughout hair to absorb oil and odor or just at the roots for volume and texture. Wait a minute, then brush or work lightly into hair.

Two to three sprays does the trick for me and I make sure to brush my hair thoroughly to evenly spread the product.

Overall: It's worth the price. It gives my hair that fresh look and it doesn't leave any white residue. I'm definitely repurchasing this. It's the perfect product for a college girl!

Song Of The Moment: Runaway Baby.

Happy Sunday :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day with your loved ones like I did! I had an awesome time hanging out with the siblings. We ate yummy food and we had a mini party!

Can I just say that I love long weekends? I am beyond ecstatic that this weekend is one of those. Thank God for President's Day! A girl can always use an extra day to relax.

Speaking of relaxing, I miss the beach so I'll probably go tomorrow with the sisters. Even though it's now cold here in LA (FINALLY), I'm still determined to go. I love the beach during the wintertime anyway! The waves, the sunset, a cozy blanket, and a thermos filled with hot chocolate. How amazing does that sound?

Before I go, I leave you the song that is currently invading my mind. "Runaway Baby" is such a fun song and the beat makes me want to dance every time I listen to it. ENJOY!

It's time for another fashion post, so let's talk about the Grammy Awards! It was held Sunday night at the Staples Center here in Los Angeles. It was a good show. I loved Bruno Mars' fun performance of "Runaway Baby" and Adele's moving performance of "Rolling in the Deep". The tribute for Whitney Houston was also very touching.

The fashion was a bit disappointing though this year. Regardless, here are my picks:

Book: The Hunger Games.

How crazy is it that it's almost the weekend again? Oh, how time flies by.

Anyways as promised, here is a book review. Even though it can get tricky, I tried my hardest not to give anything away so I hope you find it helpful!

Title: The Hunger Games

Author: Suzanne Collins

Published: September 14, 2008 by Scholastic

Plot: Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When her sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.

You know a book, a show, or a film is really good when you get invested in them right from the start and that's exactly the case with The Hunger Games. When I read the first chapter, I was instantly hooked! This book covers a variety of topics. It's about family, friendship, love, self-discovery, sacrifice, and power.

Not only do you get invested in the story, but with every character as well. I found myself hurting for Gale, struggling with Katniss, and yearning for Peeta. Even the tributes leave a huge impact. The book is so powerfully written that I was still thinking about it long after I finished reading. Yes, it's that amazing!

I am undeniably excited to catch the movie when it comes out in March, till then here are some stills for your enjoyment:

Monthly Movie Picks: February.

Happy Saturday and Happy February, my friends!

How's the weekend treating you so far? I hope everything is going swell! My weekend is going to be all about relaxing. I totally need it since I'm beat and my feet are killing me. I swear, school will be the death of me haha.

On a different note, I think it's time to share my movie picks for this month of hearts. Here we go:

USA Release Date: Yesterday

A young lawyer travels to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals.

A classic horror film is always a must-see for me especially one that stars my favorite British guy! The trailer is already getting me all spooked out and I'm loving Dan's grown-up character. Can you say HOT?!

USA Release Date: February 10th

A car accident puts Paige (McAdams) in a coma, and when she wakes up with severe memory loss, her husband Leo (Tatum) works to win her heart again.

I got teary-eyed just watching the video! I am so catching this movie with the sisters when it comes out. What can I say? I'm a sucker for tragic love stories. I am also a fan of these two beautiful people.

USA Release Date: February 14th

Two top CIA operatives wage an epic battle against one another after they discover they are dating the same woman.

A crazy best friend, a beautiful girl, two handsome guys, and loads of shenanigans make for one romantic comedy. It's always nice to watch a feel good flick once in awhile. I happen to love doing that!

USA Release Date: February 17th

In the isolated, frozen town of Barrow, Alaska, Iñupiaq teenagers Qalli and Aivaaq have grown up like brothers in a tight-knit community defined as much by ancient traditions as by hip-hop and snowmobiles. Early one morning, on a seal hunt with their friend James, a tussle turns violent, and James is killed.

It's not a MMP without an indie selection! For this month I bring you On The Ice, a dark and heavy thriller that will surely intrigue you. This film won a lot of awards already so I bet it's worth it.

USA Release Date: February 24th

When her sister disappears, Jill is convinced the serial killer who kidnapped her two years ago has returned, and she sets out to once again face her abductor.

This is another psychological thriller I definitely need to check out. Gone will certainly make me confused and frustrated, but it'll be fun! I can't wait to see what the actual story will be.

69th Annual Golden Globe Awards fashion.

Let's talk about the Golden Globe Awards, shall we? It was held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California last night. The Golden Globe is my second favorite award show (the Oscars come first, of course!). I enjoyed watching it and I loved a lot of the fashion this year.

I was also happy with most of the winners like Meryl Streep for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, George Clooney for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, and The Descendants for Best Motion Picture Drama.

With that said, here are some of my picks:

Now, let's talk about the 2012 People's Choice Awards. It was held at the Nokia Theatre here in LA. Were you able to catch it Wednesday night? The awards was alright. I was looking forward to some fabulous ensembles, but instead the fashion was less than fantastic.

Like I always say, a girl can never have enough leggings! I, for one, love them so I had to get a pair. I opted for a purple one. I wish I can own all the colors though! Their leggings are thick, stretchy, and are made from good quality fabric so you're definitely getting your money's worth. They can be a bit uncomfortable in the beginning, but I got used to them after a couple of wears. You can actually style them a la colored skinny jeans. The leggings have a shiny quality as well so I usually pair them with simple neutral tunics.

When they said a lot of colors, they're not kidding!

I highly recommend this brand. You'll certainly find something cute to add to your wardrobe! By the way, make sure to pick the right size for you, especially if you're interested in purchasing a sports bra. They're stretchy to a certain point, but they can get tight too. Happy Sunday :)

I'm back! Although technically I didn't really go anywhere haha. I just took a few days off blogging so I can get some R&R. I'm trying to enjoy the down time I have as much as I can before school starts again. All I did last week was lounge around the house and it was the best!

I watched the new episodes of Revenge, Modern Family, The Secret Circle, Grey's Anatomy, and A Gifted Man. Oh, I also finished reading Mockingjay! I LOVE The Hunger Games trilogy. I can't wait for the movies to come out and I'll probably do a review for each book, so watch out for those!

How did you spend your week?

By the way, this is the BEST PIZZA EVER.

You need to try it as soon as possible. I'm seriously not kidding. This pizza is the bomb. It's so good, I can eat the whole thing by myself (and I almost did).

Did I mention it's healthy for you? Well, it is. It's simple and it's delicious. It's also a thin crust pizza so it's very light to eat. I paired this with kombucha (a tea-based beverage). I gotta tell you, the kombucha makes the pizza so much tastier! If you want to try this, you can find it in Whole Foods.

Happy first Wednesday of the year!

I hope you all had a wonderful time welcoming 2012 because I did! I got dressed up, took lots of pictures, ate good food, watched Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, and counted down the seconds before the new year with the family. What about you? How did you celebrate?

Now, I'll go ahead and share my very first MMP for the year with you. Here they are:

Release Date: January 13th

A look at the life of Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, with a focus on the price she paid for power.

This film is a must-see. The trailer itself looks so good already! I mean seriously, how amazing is Meryl Streep? This woman can pretty much play any role and do a magnificent job. I won't be surprised if this ends up being nominated for an Oscar.

Release Date: January 13th

In Manhattan, a bike messenger picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop, who pursues the cyclist throughout the city.

A movie starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Yes please! There isn't a lot of hype for Premium Rush so I didn't know about it at first. I just found out about it through Yahoo! Movies. It seems like an interesting story so I'll probably watch it and drag my brother with me haha.

Release Date: January 20th

A nine-year-old amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Another Oscar-Worthy film for everyone to check out. It stars two of my favorite actors, Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock. Granted this film is going to make me cry like a baby, but I just think it's too good to pass up. Mads and I already cleared our schedules so we can go see this when it comes out!

Release Date: January 27th

As a police psychologist works to talk down an ex-con who is threatening to jump from a Manhattan hotel rooftop, the biggest diamond heist ever committed is in motion.

A thriller I am dying to see. The plot is really intriguing and the whole "man planning to jump off a building" scenario will surely keep me on the edge of my seat. Also, have I mentioned I am a huge Sam Worthington fan? Well, I am!

Limited Release Date: January 27th

The mother of a teenage boy who went on a high-school killing spree tries to deal with her grief - and feelings of responsibility for her child's actions.

This is my indie pick for the month. How haunting is the poster for this movie? I'm already getting scared just looking at it! I am looking forward to seeing how John C. Reilly tackled this thriller drama because I've only seen him do comedy. By the way, this movie first premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.

Happy 2012, girls and boys!

I know I've already said this before, but I can't believe 2011 is over! WOW. WOW. WOW. I hope your 2011 has been super eventful and that you learned a lot. Last year has definitely been crazy for me. It's been a rollercoaster ride, fersure!

Most people shared the things they wanted to change for this new year, but I'd rather share the things I want to accomplish. Here are the ones that I can think of at the top of my head:

Finish writing my book (currently untitled)
Take a photography class
Practice using Photoshop
Make new friends
Make more time for old friends
Join a yoga class and a gym
Start making films again
Continue to help others

NYE feast ideas.

It's Friday, baby!

As you probably noticed, I have been raving on and on about the coming new year. I can't help it. I am just too excited to celebrate New Year's Eve! Aren't you? Of course you are!

I shared my NYE outfit with you on one of my recent posts and now, I will share some vegetarian recipes you can make to contribute to the feast. Let's all welcome 2012 with delicious food!

Potato Croquetas with Saffron Alioli

Yield: Makes 24 to 28 hors d'oeuvres

Active Time: 1 hour and a half

Total Time: 2 hours (includes making alioli *)

1 pound large boiling potatoes (about 2)
3 large eggs
1 tablespoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh tarragon
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
About 4 cups olive oil (not extra-virgin) for frying

Peel potatoes and cut into 1-inch pieces. Cover with salted cold water by 1 inch in a 2-quart saucepan, then boil until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain in a colander. Force potatoes through ricer into a medium bowl and cool.

Lightly beat 1 egg in a small bowl with a fork. Add to cooled potatoes along with herbs, butter, salt, and pepper and stir just until combined. Spoon tablespoons of potato mixture onto a tray, then lightly roll each into a ball between palms of your hands and return to tray. Lightly beat remaining 2 eggs in a small bowl and set aside. Spread flour in a shallow bowl, then spread bread crumbs in another shallow bowl.

Working in 4 batches (of 6 or 7), roll balls in flour to coat, gently shaking off excess flour. Dip balls in egg, turning to coat and letting excess drip off, then roll in bread crumbs and return to tray. Chill, covered, 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 200°F. Heat 1 1/2 inches oil in a 3-quart pot until it registers 360°F on thermometer. Working in 4 batches, fry croquetas, turning if necessary, until browned, about 1 1/2 minutes per batch. Transfer with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain, then transfer to a baking pan and keep warm in oven while frying remaining croquetas. (Return oil to 360°F between batches.)

--Croquetas can be fried up to 3 hours ahead and kept at room temperature. Reheat in a preheated 400°F oven 8 minutes.--

Saffron Alioli *

Pinch of saffron threads (about 8 crumbled)
1/2 teaspoon hot water
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 garlic clove, chopped
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon tomato paste
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Put saffron threads in a small cup, then add hot water and let stand 5 minutes.

Purée saffron mixture with remaining ingredients in a mini food processor or a blender until smooth.

--Aioli can be made 2 days ahead and chilled, covered. Bring to room temperature before serving (this will take about 1 hour).--

I love potatos so these croquetas are the perfect appetizer for me. Plus, they're fun to eat!

Cauliflower Steaks with Olive Relish and Tomato Sauce

Yield: Makes 4 servings

Active Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

1 large head of cauliflower
1/2 cup pitted oil-packed black olives, finely chopped
3 sun-dried tomatoes, thinly sliced
3 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, divided, plus more
2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 garlic cloves
2 plum tomatoes, cored, quartered

Remove leaves and trim stem end of cauliflower, leaving core intact. Place cauliflower core side down on a work surface. Using a large knife, slice cauliflower into four 1/2" "steaks" from center of cauliflower (some florets will break loose; reserve). Finely chop enough loose florets to measure 1/2 cup. Transfer chopped florets to a small bowl and mix with olives, sun-dried tomatoes, 1 tablespoon oil, parsley, and lemon juice. Season relish with salt and pepper.

Preheat oven to 400°. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large heavy ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Working in 2 batches, cook cauliflower steaks until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side, adding tablespoon oil to pan between batches. Transfer steaks to a large rimmed baking sheet. Reserve skillet. Roast cauliflower until tender, about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, return skillet to medium-high heat and add garlic cloves and tomatoes, one cut side down. Cook until tomatoes are browned; turn tomatoes over and transfer skillet to oven with cauliflower. Roast garlic and tomatoes until tender, about 12 minutes.

Transfer garlic, tomatoes, and 1/2 tablespoon oil to a blender; purée until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Divide tomato sauce among plates. Place 1 cauliflower steak on each plate; spoon relish over. Serve warm or at room temperature.

I just had to add this recipe because it's so cool! I am definitely going to try making this and I will make my family eat it haha.

Four-Cheese Pasta with Cauliflower

Yield: Makes 7 servings

1 1/4 cups skim milk
2 tablespoons light cream cheese
1 1/2 tablespoons whole-wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)
3/4 cup shredded cheddar
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
4 cups cooked whole-wheat spiral pasta
2 cups chopped cauliflower (about 1/2 a medium head), steamed

In a medium saucepan, combine milk, cream cheese, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and cayenne, if desired. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring, until mixture comes to a slow boil, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove pan from heat; stir in remaining cheeses and mustard until cheese melts. In a bowl, toss pasta with cauliflower; pour cheese mixture over top; stir. Divide pasta evenly among 7 bowls; serve immediately.

I really love cauliflower, don't I? You know it's not a feast without pasta!

Prosecco-Rose Petal Pops

Yield: Makes 6 pops

1 cup white grape juice
1 cup cold, flat Prosecco
1/3 cup rose water
1 1/2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
About 30 red rosebud petals, rinsed (make sure they're clean and pesticide free)

In a large bowl, stir together the grape juice, Prosecco, rose water, and lemon juice. Fill ice pop molds about one-third full. Drop two or three rose petals into each mold and freeze until set, about 30 minutes.

Fill the molds another third of the way full and drop two or three more rose petals in each mold. Insert sticks. Freeze until set, about 30 minutes. Fill all the way with the remaining Prosecco mixture and drop two or three more rose petals into each mold. Freeze until set, at least 8 hours or up to 1 week.

To unmold the pops, run hot water over the outsides of the molds for a few seconds, then gently pull the sticks.

These pops are a tad weird, but I'm willing to try them. I think they would be a hit at the party!

Well, I hope you like these recipes and that you'll give them a try. By the way, I just noticed that these are not exactly budget friendly. Some of the ingredients are a bit expensive and are probably hard to find like saffron and rose water. I think it's okay to spend more on food for special occasions though, right?

I think it's always good to take some time off and relax with a couple of magazines. I just lay on my bed and I slowly read through of all them. It's such a great way to enjoy some down time.

I haven't read InStyle for awhile so I decided to pick it up and I also picked up ELLE DECOR. I thought it would be nice to get some decorating ideas for my future apartment. Hey, it's never too early to start planning!

Polyvore: Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

How was your weekend? Did you have a lot of fun and did you get everything you wished for? I sure hope so! I can't believe Christmas is already over and that 2011 will be over in a week too! I swear before we know it, it'll be the holidays again haha.

Moving on, here are two Polyvore sets:

Christmas Eve Ensemble

The outfit I wore at my family get together Saturday night is very similar to this set. I didn't want to dress up too much so I opted for a cute laidback style. The floral top I wore was actually one of my Mom's early Christmas gifts to me. I paired it with my Forever 21 leggings seen here. Instead of wearing boots, I decided to go with my black pumps seen here. I rarely wear heels so I thought I would for the holidays!

I added a fuschia scarf for a pop of color and a black bag for some edge. By the way, both items were early gifts as well. I finished the look with my diamond stud earrings, given to me by Nat a few years back, and my phoenix ring seen here.

New Year's Eve Ensemble

After days of contemplating, I finally decided on an outfit for New Year's! I am so happy I already have it planned out so I won't be rushing on Saturday. I will be wearing my sequined top from Forever 21 with my new rubine leggings from We Love Colors (a review on it coming very soon). It shouldn't be too cold so I'll wear my cream blazer and my black pumps again.

I'll wear my pearl earrings, necklace, and ring (a gift set) and I'll use my silver clutch to complete the outfit. One of my friends is having a party on New Year's Day, but I'm not sure yet if I'm going to attend. If I do decide to go, I'll just swap the top and leggings for a cute party dress!

Well, that's it for now. I'll be doing a gift haul as soon as I can!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I wanted to greet you guys already because tomorrow is going to be pretty busy! I am so excited to celebrate with the family tonight. We stay up every year to eat loads of food, watch movies, take pictures, and of course, open gifts!

Before I go, here are the things I love about this holiday:

1. Seeing bright lights and colorful decorations everywhere I go

2. Setting up the tree with my sisters and brother every year

3. Listening nonstop to Christmas songs

4. Watching Christmas movies with my friends

5. Giving and receiving gifts from loved ones (Also, participating in toy drives!)

6. Getting all dressed up to eat delicious food with my family

I've been wanting a pair for ages! I love that these boots can instantly add edge to any outfit. It would be nice to own Doc Martens in the future but for now, I would be more than happy with a pair from H&M.

Bracelet And Ring Chain

I saw this in one of the shows I watch and I've been on a search for a bracelet and ring chain ever since. I haven't been lucky though, because I can't seem to find one anywhere! Do you have any store suggestions?

Nikon D5000 DSLR

I think it's time to start thinking about finally buying a DSLR. I'm not a beginner, but I'm also not a professional, so I think the D5000 would be the perfect camera for me. Hopefully I'll be able to buy it soon!

Maxi Dress

It's winter already and I still haven't bought a maxi dress! I seriously need to shop for some soon. I've been itching to sport a maxi dress paired with an oversized sweater ensemble for so long.

I believe it's time for a new phone. I've had my Blackberry since freshman year and it's pretty beat up now. I know most people would love to get the iPhone 4S, but I'd rather get this cute one!

I saw this in Seventeen Magazine and I thought it would be worth buying. I like to brush my hair in the shower to avoid tangles so this would come in handy. Plus, I can also bring this with me to the beach!

I'm not big on purchasing designer perfumes, but I fell in love with Lovestruck! I checked it out when I went to Macy's last week and it smelled so good. It's not too girly and it suits my style.

Review: Yes To Blueberries Overnight Hydrating Cream.

Happy Tuesday!

I am currently sitting on my bed (where I usually do all my blogging) sporting comfy grey pajamas and an old class shirt. My brother actually comes into my room like every few minutes to annoy me and tackle me. He's weird like that haha.

Anyways, the next few weeks are going to be super laidback because I'm officially on winter break! College has been such an amazing experience, but I could really use some time off from it. I am looking forward to just lounging around at home doing absolutely anything I want!

Moving on, here's a review:

Yes To Blueberries Age Refresh Overnight Hydrating Cream

Formulated with moisture-retaining shea butter to help smooth and hydrate skin, blueberries to give your skin a powerful dose of anti-oxidant goodness while you sleep and noni fruit, an exotic fruit to help soothe and calm your skin from the day's wear and tear. Use over Intensive Skin Repair Serum and you'll wake up with a big smile on your face.

Mads got me this product a few months ago just because. She bought it from Walgreens for $19.99, but you can also find it in Target, Walmart, and Ulta.

Pros: Although I'm still pretty young, I like that this cream is for mature skin. It's also Paraben, Petroleum, and SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) free. Plus, I like the bottle with the cute lavender cap and the pump is easy to use.

Cons: It's a bit sticky, but that doesn't really bother me. I also got a pimple (which is very rare for me) the first time I used the cream. I'm not sure if the cream caused that, but my skin probably just reacted to the new product because it's all-natural.

Directions: After cleansing skin with Yes To Blueberries Smoothing Daily Cleanser, apply this decadent cream using light circular motions. Wake up to find your skin happy, hydrated, and healthy! For especially 'gosh-it's-so-glowy!' morning skin, use with Intensive Skin Repair Serum.

I put this on my face every night before I go to bed. I use a different cleanser though because I've yet to own the other products mentioned above.

Overall: I like this cream a lot. I love blueberries and I love that it's natural. My skin definitely feels hydrated in the morning and I noticed that it really does make my skin glow.

You should totally give this a try and you can also check out Yes To Carrots, Yes To Cucumbers, and Yes To Tomatoes (if you're not a fan of blueberries!).

Fashion Haul: birthday shopping!

As promised, here is a haul of the stuff I bought when I went shopping for my birthday a few weeks back. I am trying not to spend too much money, especially since I still need to buy Christmas presents for my family and friends, so I gave myself a budget. Thank God for Forever 21!

Grey/Turquoise Logo V-Neck Shirt - $11.99

When you're trying to save, the first place you should go to is the sales rack. The sales rack is a great place to find cute pieces like this v-neck. I like the burnout style of this top and I think the Yale logo is really cool! Plus, I like that I can wear this with leggings and a scarf for a laidback look.

Teal Midi Dress - FREE

This dress was originally $10.99, but I got it for free! They were having a Buy 1 Get 1 Free on their sale items, so when I bought the Yale shirt, I got this too. Sweet, right? It's a little big on me, but it was the last one and I love the color. Besides, I can always belt it and make it work.

Black Leggings - $7.80

I usually buy my leggings from other stores because I like them a little thicker and the ones they sell at Forever 21 are a tad thin for me. I was in need of a new pair though, so I went ahead and bought this. I guess they're not bad. I just need to wear them with long tops to cover my bum!

Teal Fedora Hat - $14.80

I always thought I looked weird with a fedora on, but then I saw this beauty and my darling sisters convinced me that I had to have it! They said it looked great on me and I had to agree haha. I love the color and the fact that it's made of felt material. I think this fedora is very unique.

Hunter Green Knit Headwrap - $6.80

I think the whole headwrap/headscarf trend is super cute. This was actually the last thick headwrap they had out that day so I'm glad that I was able to grab it right away! It's chunky, it's stylish, it's comfortable, and it will keep my ears warm all winter long.

Silver Phoenix Ring - $5.80

When I go shopping, I always have to check out the accessories section. Although I would love to buy all the rings I see, I try to limit myself to buying just one everytime. When I saw this, I immediately knew that I had to add it to my collection! This wrap-around ring is one of my favorites.

Hey, it's Wednesday!

Before anything else, I want to give a BIG thank you for all the birthday wishes. I feel so loved! I had a very unique birthday this year, but don't think I'm done celebrating. You best believe I'm gonna party the whole month haha.

Now, let's talk about hair.

BEFORE: Long and Tangly

I got a haircut a few months ago. I was in need of one so badly because the length of my hair was almost up to my elbows and I'm not used to having it that long. Not to mention, it was becoming a bit too hard to maintain so I was itching to chop some of it off.

AFTER: Short and Healthy

I love my hair right now! It's so much easier to take care of and it's also a lot easier to style.

Before my lovely and talented hairdresser worked her magic on me, she asked if I wanted to donate some of my hair to Locks of Love. Of course, I said yes!

It was meant to be because I've been interested in donating. I just wasn't sure how to go about it before and I wasn't sure if I passed the guidelines for donating since I had layers.

WHAT IS LOCKS OF LOVE?

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

This is the chunk I donated. Haha it looks a bit creepy, huh?

My hairdresser braided my hair before cutting it, which is what you're supposed to do according to the guidelines. It needs to be either bundled in a ponytail or a braid (visit locksoflove.org to see the guideline for acceptable donations).

Donating is super easy. All you need is the donation form, a bubble envelope, and a clean bag to store the hair in. I sent mine and after a few months I received a thank you postcard in the mail!

I highly recommend participating in this if you can. I can't tell you how amazing it feels to know that you helped a child. It's a simple act of kindness that makes such a huge impact. Check out the website for more information about the organization.

P.S. I read somewhere that Locks of Love is a scam. I really hope that's not true or else that would suck big time.

I just wanted to do a quick post to say hello and to give an update. I hope you had an amazing week and that you are ready to brace another one. I also want to share that today is my birthday!

Today I turn 19! I am another year older and not to mention, this is my last year of being a teenager. It's a pretty big deal, but it's okay. I'm always gonna be a kid at heart no matter what my age is anyway. ;)

Well, I'm off to celebrate with the family. I can't wait to blow my birthday candles (a must for me) and eat yummy cake!

Woohoo, let the countdown to Christmas begin. I am beyond boggled by how fast everything is going. In a few weeks it's going to be Christmas and then before we know it, it'll be 2012 already! Can you say insane in the membrane?!

Anyways, here are my movie picks for this magical month:

Limited Release Date: December 2nd

A haunting portrait of Lucy, a young university student, is drawn into a mysterious hidden world of unspoken desires.

This is another must-see indie film for me. Sleeping Beauty is an Australian erotic drama written and directed by Julia Leigh. It's raw and sensual, so of course it's for mature audiences only. I read that Emily Browning delivered a very powerful performance in this film so I want to see it. This was also an official selection at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.

Release Date: December 9th

The lives of several couples and singles in New York intertwine over the course of New Year's Eve.

I loved Valentine's Day so I'm sure I'll love this one too. The trailer is already making me super excited for New Year's Eve! I think it's so cool that the whole movie revolves around one day. The awesome cast include Josh Duhamel, Halle Berry, Zac Efron, Jessica Biel, Ashton Kutcher, and Katherine Heigl.

Release Date: December 9th

Soon after her divorce, a fiction writer returns to her home in small-town Minnesota, looking to rekindle a romance with her ex-boyfriend, who is now married with kids.

I can already tell that this is going to be both funny and sad. The story is totally relatable as well because it's based on a true fact: everyone gets old, but not everyone grows up. The screenplay is written by the amazing Diablo Cody. It stars Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson (LOVE HIM), Patton Oswalt, and Elizabeth Reaser.

Release Date: December 16th

Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick Dr. Watson join forces to outwit and bring down their fiercest adversary, Professor Moriarty.

Who's up for another Sherlock Holmes adventure? I am! I love Holmes and Watson's strong bromance in these films. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are both so cute. I am also happy that Rachel McAdams is back for the second installment.

Release Date: December 21st

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Craig) is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander (Mara), a young computer hacker.

I haven't read the Millennium trilogy yet, but I've heard from a lot of people that it's a really good series. I might just watch this first before reading the book though. This film is seriously dark and intriguing. I am also impressed by Rooney Mara's transformation into Lisbeth Salander. WOW!

Hey, guys! I want to hear all about your week. How was it? Did you have fun? Did you celebrate Thanksgiving? Did you brace the Black Friday crowd? I decided to skip the BF mayhem this year. I wasn't in the mood to shove people haha.

So, I believe it's time for another Polyvore a la Pretty Little Liars.

Let's talk about Hanna Marin's, played by Ashley Benson, fashion sense. I like her style even though it's a bit different from mine. I don't dress too girly, but I still find her clothes fabulous. I like the floral dress she's rocking in this picture.

Her style is girly and edgy. Her outfits usually consist of black items mixed with bold colors like purple. How awesome is this top?! I really like the color and the detailing is just gorgeous.

I noticed that she's a fan of waist skirts. She likes to wear them with high boots. By the way, I am loving the vertical stripes!

She's also known for sporting colored jeans. I like that she paired this burgundy jeans with a black and white shirt. She kept it simple, but still cute.

Hanna loves to pair tunic dresses with leggings too. She also usually wears a bright nail color when she's dressed in a dark ensemble. Like her hot pink nails in this picture. It pops against the dark grey.

When she's not strutting in boots, you'll find her walking in wedges. This outfit is one of my favorites. I love how it's laidback, but still very put together. I want her cream blouse!

This is my absolute favorite. It's perfect for me even though it's not a colorful outfit. Her flowy light pink blouse is calling my name and her beaded bib necklace is right up my alley.

The two things that I always, always notice everytime I watch the show are her unique tops and her fun nails. Isn't this loose printed shirt presh? I am a fan of her green nails as well.

Isn't this top unique? It has this whole oriental vibe going on. I also like the cutie beside her haha.

This ripped shirt is insane! I love it with the red pants and the yellow nails. I would totally wear this.

I like that Hanna's style matches her personality in the show perfectly. She's sexy and sassy. Now, this red dress is H-O-T.

Her accessories are great too. I want this wild tooth necklace to be a part of my jewelry collection.

My Hanna Marin Polyvore Set

The coral waist skirt paired with the cinched magenta blouse is so Hanna and I think the ruffles make the top fun. The cardigan and lace-up suede heel boots balances the bright items. They also make the ensemble a bit edgy. The long necklace, feather cocktail ring, and purple suede tote complete the look.

It's cute. It's funky. It's fun. I would totally wear this. It's perfect for a girls night out in the city or for a dinner date.

Thanksgiving recipes, anyone?

I am thankful for my loving family, my awesome friends, and you! I am also thankful for everyday that I get to live, love, learn, experience, share, and make a difference.

For me this holiday is all about giving thanks for the neverending blessings in my life, making turkey art, hanging orange and yellow decorations, and of course, enjoying delicious food with the family.

I know that turkey is a staple for Thanksgiving, but I can't eat that so today I will be eating salad, veggie lasagna, and mashed potatos instead. I can't wait!

I was searching for a couple of vegetarian recipes I could try next Thanksgiving or this Christmas. I found some good ones online so I'll share them with you.

Hazelnut & Chard Ravioli Salad

3/4 lb. any kind of winter flavored raviolis (sweet onion & red chard or butternut squash ravoli)
2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, divided
fine grain sea salt
2 yellow onions, thinly sliced
1 bunch swiss chard, deveined and cut into 1/2-inch ribbons
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1/2 cup hazelnuts, toasted and chopped
1 cup butternut squash "croutons"
zest of one lemon
1/4 cup chives, minced

Into an extra-large pot of well-salted boiling water add the raviolis. After a few minutes, when the raviolis float and are cooked through, drain them and toss with one tablespoon of the olive oil. This prevents them from sticking together. Set aside.

To caramelize the onions, heat another tablespoon of the olive oil in a large thick-bottomed skillet with a pinch of salt. Cook over high heat, stirring occasionally, until the onions collapse and turn deep brown in color. You can do this ahead of time (or just before serving) - whatever you prefer. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Just before serving heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, again in a big skillet over high heat. Add the raviolis. Stir in the onions, and then the chard. Wait until the chard begins to wilt, then stir in most of the cheese and most of the hazelnuts. Gently fold in the butternut squash and lemon zest. Remove from heat. Serve on a big platter garnished with chives and remaining hazelnuts and Parmesan.

Serves 6

I'm a salad person all the way so I'm game to try this! Plus, I love ravioli.

Kale and Olive Oil Mashed Potatoes

3 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into large chunks
sea salt
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 bunch kale, large stems stripped and discarded, leaves chopped
1/2+ cup warm milk or cream
freshly ground black pepper
5 scallions, white and tender green parts, chopped
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan, for garnish (opt)
fried shallots, for garnish (optional)

Put the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Add a pinch of salt. Bring the water to a boil and continue boiling for 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic, chopped kale, a big pinch of salt, and saute just until tender - about a minute. Set aside.

Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or fork. Slowly stir in the milk a few big splashes at a time. You are after a thick, creamy texture, so if your potatoes are on the dry side keep adding milk until the texture is right. Season with salt and pepper.

Dump the kale on top of the potatoes and give a quick stir. Transfer to a serving bowl, make a well in the center of the potatoes and pour the remaining olive oil. Sprinkle with the scallions, Parmesan cheese, and shallots.

Serves 6

Now, I won't feel so guilty eating a lot of this because it has kale!

Classic Green Bean Casserole

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup (Regular, 98% Fat Free or Healthy Request®)
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon soy sauce
Dash ground black pepper
4 cups cooked cut green beans
1 1/3 cups French's® French Fried Onions

Stir the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, beans and 2/3 cup onions in a 1 1/2-quart casserole.

Bake at 350°F. for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture.

Sprinkle with the remaining onions. Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.

Easy Substitution: Use 1 bag (16 to 20 ounces) frozen green beans, thawed, 2 packages (9 ounces each) frozen green beans, thawed, 2 cans (about 16 ounces each) green beans, drained or about 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans for this recipe.

Flavor Variation: For cheese lovers, stir in 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese with the soup. Omit the soy sauce. Sprinkle with an additional 1/4 cup Cheddar cheese when adding the remaining onions.

I've never had green bean casserole before so I need to make this ASAP.

Spice-kissed Pumpkin Pie

1 pie crust (of your choice)
2 cups hazelnuts (divided) , toasted
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice blend *
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon arrowroot (or cornstarch)
1 1/2 cups of roasted pumpkin puree *
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 extra large eggs PLUS one for glaze, lightly beaten
1 cup coconut milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, racks in the middle. Puree 1 1/2 cups of the toasted hazelnuts in a food processor until they turn into a hazelnut paste, past the 'crumble' stage. Set aside. Chop the remaining 1/2 cup of hazelnuts and set aside seperately, these will be sprinkled on top after the pie is baked.

To make the pumpkin pie filling, whisk together the brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice blend, salt, and arrowroot. Stir in the pumpkin puree, and vanilla. Now stir in the eggs and coconut milk until just combined. Set aside.

Before filling the pie crust, crumble the hazelnut paste on top of the pie dough into the pie plate, quickly and gently press it into a thin layer across the bottom creating a layer of hazlenuts that will sit between the dough and the filling. Using the last egg gently brush the decorative edges of the pie dough. Use a fork to prick the pie dough a few times to prevent air bubbles. Fill the pie crust with the filling and bake for about 50 minutes - the center of the pie should just barely jiggle when you move the pie - the edges should be set.

Let the pie cool a bit, this makes slicing less messy. Serve straight or with a dollop of bourbon-spiked, sweetenend whipped cream or creme fraiche, and a sprinkling of chopped hazelnuts.

Makes one 9 or 10-inch pie

Pumpkin Pie Spice Blend *

1 tablespoon freshly ground cassia cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon freshly ground allspice
scant 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground cloves
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger (pre ground)

Use a coffee grinder to separately grind each of the following: cinnamon, allspice, and cloves. Smash the cinnamon a bit before grinding it. The spices should be powder-fine, and sifted into a bowl together. Stir in the ground ginger, and use in any recipe calling for a pumpkin pie spice blend.

Roasted Pumpkin Puree *

1 3 lb. sugar pie pumpkin
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Carefully cut the pumpkin into four big wedges - get rid of the stem. Scoop out the seeds and pulp (you can toast the seeds if you like), drizzle then rub the pumpkin wedges with olive oil, sprinkle generously with salt, and then bake on a baking sheet (middle rack) until tender throughout - about an hour. Scoop flesh out of the skins and puree with a hand blender or mash well by hand.

Of course, desserts are a must for every occasion. I'm not much for pies, but this sounds interesting enough to try.

I will fersure need to ask Maddie, a total pro at the kitchen, to help me make these seeing as I'm such a lousy cook. I still need to work on my cooking skills. It could take a while haha.

American Music Awards fashion.

Happy Monday!

What is going on? I feel like I've been MIA for a long time, but it's only been like three days since my last post. How was the weekend for you? Did you get the chance to check out the Versace for H&M collection? I haven't yet. Hopefully I'll be able to this week. This girl needs to get her hands on some Versace pieces ASAP.

Moving on, let's talk about fashion at the 2011 AMAs. It was held at the Nokia Theatre here in Los Angeles yesterday, November 20th. I gotta tell you, yesterday was not the perfect day for an award show. It was raining hard and it was freezing. Imagine wearing short dresses and gowns in that kind of weather. Insane in the membrane!

Besides the fashion, I also enjoyed the performances. They weren't spectacular, but they were pretty fun to watch. My favorites were The Band Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Gym Class Heroes with Adam Levine, Katy Perry, and Hot Chelle Rae. Oh, I'm happy too that Hot Chelle Rae won the Sprint New Artist of The Year!

Happy Thursday, girls and boys :)

What's new with you? I hope your week is going swell and that you've been engaging in a lot of activities. I sure am. I can't afford to be totally lazy especially because it's cold now. I have to get my exercise on! Also, you know what I just realized? I have a lot of friends born in November. Like seriously, I've already said 'Happy Birthday' to about 8 people this week alone. It's pretty crazy haha.

Anyways, it's time to post the song that has been invading my mind these past few weeks. That would be Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away". I've always liked Katy Perry. She's weird, but not over-the-top and I love most of her songs.

I'm such a sucker for sad love songs and I like this video a lot. It was really well done. Watch the vid to see what I mean!

Review: CHI Shine Infusion Hair Shine Spray.

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had an awesome weekend. I sure did. We had a 3-day weekend for Veterans Day which was pretty sweet because a girl can always use some downtime, right?

Excuse this randomness, but I just really need to ask my fellow Grey's Anatomy fans this question: Were you as heartbroken as I was when I watched last week's episode?! It was so intense that I was seriously screaming at the TV. It was definitely one of the best episodes of the show.

I hate that I have to wait till 2012 for the next episode. Oh well, at least I still have The Mentalist to keep my Thursday nights occupied.

Moving on, here is a review:

5.3 oz CHI Shine Infusion Hair Shine Spray

An innovative weightless thermal active shine spray that provides an instant polished shine, repairs split ends, eliminates frizz and flyaways, while providing protection against thermal damage for all hair types. Exceptional when used with all CHI Ceramic tools.

My momma bought me this a couple of months ago. This is the first product from CHI that I've ever tried.

Pros: This spray definitely made my hair shiny and it made my hair smoother so it was easier to style. It really is weightless and the fact that it serves as a thermal protectant makes me super happy. Also, the smell doesn't linger.

Cons: Although the smell doesn't linger, the product is still heavily perfumed. It smells a bit like an Axe body spray, but milder. The scent doesn't bother me, but it is pretty strong especially when you use a lot. Since it's a spray, it was also a bit hard to use evenly throughout my hair.

See? It gave my hair instant shine. I love it!

I tried the product on dry hair, but you can use it on wet hair as well.

By the way, that is my not-so-new haircut from a couple of months ago. It grew a little bit already since I had it cut and you can also see my current hair color. I'll talk more about it in another post.

Overall: I love using the CHI hair spray. It works for me and I love how shiny it makes my hair. I definitely recommend it.

Yay, it's Friday and it's 11-11-11 today! Make a wish!

I just wanted to do a quick post for today. I am off to enjoy some quality bonding time with the sibs. We are heading downtown to eat good food and maybe do some shopping. Oh, who am I kidding?! We are so going shopping. ;)

Obsession: The Secret Circle.

Happy Wednesday

Whoa, it's Wednesday already? Damn, time really does fly when you're having fun! I hope this week is going smoothly for you guys. Mine is going swell, if I may say so. I am having a very productive week so far. I get all giddy inside when I get to cross out something from my to-do list! Of course, my week isn't complete without the million shows I watch.

The Secret Circle is one of the shows I follow. It's based on the book series by L.J. Smith and is from the creators of The Vampire Diaries. It airs on CW as well.

I never really got into The Vampire Diaries craze, but this show is my new obsession. It's awesome, trust me. The Secret Circle is such a refreshing story because for a change it's not about vampires and werewolves - it's about witches. Hey, I think witches are super hot!

Set in the fictional town of Chance Harbor, Washington, the series revolves around six teenage witches who form an infamous coven known as 'The Secret Circle'.

Cassie Blake is a sixteen-year old troubled teenager who is learning to adjust to her new life in Chance Harbor, after the tragic death of her mother, Amelia. Orphaned and deeply saddened, Cassie moves in with her warm and loving grandmother, Jane. After being enrolled into a local high school, Cassie comes into contact with five unlikely friends, Adam, Diana, mean-girl Faye, her sidekick Melissa, and a brooding loner Nick. After her new friends explain that they are all descended from a powerful lineage of witches, and that they need her in order to complete their circle, Cassie refuses to believe them - until Adam shows her how to unlock her magical powers. Monthly Movie Picks: November.

TGIF, guys!

Aaah, I love Fridays. It is no doubt my favorite day of the week. It's the day when you can pretty much do anything you want. You can party it up or you can just relax at home. I usually spend mine eating dinner out and catching a new movie. How do you usually spend your Fridays?

Speaking of movies, I believe it's time to post my picks for the month of November. Whoa, it's November already?! Oh, how the months are flying by.

Anyways, here are my picks:

Release Date: Today

Six years after their Guantanamo Bay adventure, stoner buds Harold Lee and Kumar Patel cause a holiday fracas by inadvertently burning down Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree.

The first two were freaking hilarious so of course, I have to see the third one in 3D. It's no secret that these movies are controversial because they cover sensitive topics like racial stereotypes and they're heavy on sexual contents, but I still love watching them anyway. Sure these movies are highly inappropriate, but they're also entertaining as hell! I like John Cho and Kal Penn's chemistry and I think Neil Patrick Harris is super cute.

Release Date: Today

When a group of hard working guys find out they've fallen victim to a wealthy business man's Ponzi scheme, they conspire to rob his high-rise residence.

Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy stars in this movie so it is sure to be a winner. The trailer already had me laughing out loud with Ricky! I also like that the story is relatable. I mean, majority of the people are still struggling economically. I think this movie will be both eye-opening and funny.

Release Date: November 9th

As the face of law enforcement in America for almost 50 years, J. Edgar Hoover was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life.

I can't wait to watch this! Clint Eastwood is a genius so I won't be surprised if this movie really ends up being nominated for an Oscar. The story is also very intriguing because it gives insight on how Hoover struggled with power and corruption during his years as head of FBI. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer, and many more excellent actors.

Release Date: November 18th

The Quileute and the Volturi close in on expecting parents Edward and Bella, whose unborn child poses different threats to the wolf pack and vampire coven.

I'm not the biggest Twilight fan, but I will watch this. I enjoyed reading the books and watching the films. I'm interested to see how they managed to divide the last book into two movies. Seeing Taylor Lautner shirtless is always a plus too!

Release Date: November 18th

Mumble's son, Erik, is struggling to realize his talents in the Emperor Penguin world. Meanwhile, Mumble and his family and friends discover a new threat to their home -- one that will take everyone working together to save them.

I am a Happy Feet fan all the way. I love penguins and this movie is full of cute ones who can sing and dance. It's too adorable to pass up. I'm so dragging my family to watch this with me! Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Sofia Vergara lent their voices for this film.

Fashion Haul: closet finds.

What's up, people? How was your Halloween? Did you celebrate it? Did you dress up? Did you get a lot of candies? Did you get a good scare or did you scare someone else? Please share!

Moving on, I thought I should do a haul for you tonight. This is an old haul though. I say "old" because these two items are, well, old haha.

I was cleaning and organizing my closet a few weeks ago (you won't believe how OC I get when it comes to my closet) when I came across these hidden treasures. Boy, was I excited! I just love getting surprised even in the smallest forms like finding forgotten clothes in the back of my closet. It's simply magical!

My mini haul:

Hot Pink Oversized Tank Top

I don't remember when I bought this top, but I do remember the details. I bought this at Old Navy. It was on the sale rack, which is the first thing I check out when I'm shopping. I wear this tank top as a dress because it's about two sizes bigger, so it's pretty oversized. It was the last one on the rack and it was only $2. I just couldn't pass that up!

I really like the bold color and I also like that the "MAUI BEACH" design is a bit faded so it has that worn out style. The words are also a bit glittery. I can still wear this out with a bandeau since we still get random hot days here in LA.

Turquoise Plaid Skirt

I ordered this online from Forever 21 about two years ago. Unfortunately, the skirt didn't fit me at first. It was a bit tight so I just left it stashed in the back of my closet until recently. The skirt is a little bit big on me this time around, but that's okay. I still love it! Turquoise is one of my favorite colors and the plaid print is perfect for fall. I can't wait to pair this with a flowy blouse or a cute crop top.

The best part of the skirt for me is the belt. Gotta love bows!

Wow, it's the weekend again! You can feel that it really is fall already because the days and weeks are zooming by so quickly now. Do you agree? Oh, also the weather here in California has changed yet again. It's cold now and I'm hoping it'll stay that way. I'm so ready to wear scarves, sweaters, leggings, and boots for a long time!

With that being said, let's talk food!

Lightlife Smart Dogs Veggie Protein Links

A fat-free hot dog? Believe it. Knowing what's IN your hot dog? Believe that, too. Smart Dogs® give you that plump, juicy flavor without the meat. So get that summertime, ballgame atmosphere while keepin' it all veggie.

My dad bought me this when he went grocery shopping a couple of days ago. He knows that I've been on the look out for a delicious vegetarian substitute to regular hot dogs.

This package comes with 8 hot dogs. These are delicious and affordable. If I remember correctly, the regular and jumbo hot dogs are both less than $5 at Ralphs.

Ingredients
Water, soy protein isolate, wheat gluten, evaporated cane juice, less than 2% of: natural flavor (from vegetable sources), natural smoke flavor, garlic powder, paprika oleoresin (color and flavor), yeast extract, xanthan gum, guar gum, carrageenan, fermented rice flour, salt, potassium chloride.

There's also cooking instructions on the back of the package. It suggests boiling the hot dogs rather than frying them. I prefer boiling them anyway because it's healthier and besides, the hot dogs are not firm since they're made of soy and wheat so frying them would be a bit difficult.

I ate some for breakfast the other day with sunny side up and wheat bread. Please excuse my weird-looking sunny side up. I'm still working on my cooking skills or lack thereof!

By the way, I ate more than what is pictured above. I just don't like putting a lot of food on my plate haha.

If you like soy, then I'm sure you will like these. I can't wait to try their other products like the veggie burgers and bacon strips.

This is definitely my new favorite vegetarian brand.

Pretty Little Liars inspired Halloween costumes.

What's going on? How was your weekend? I know, I know. I realized I often ask about how your weekends go, but I'm just curious and I'm always interested to hear from you!

My weekend was spent curled up in my room watching scary movies. Boy, was I thankful there were a bunch of scary movie marathons on TV! Those definitely kept me entertained since I couldn't really get out of the house.

Why couldn't I? It was because my right eye was painfully swollen since last week. It was not pretty and it hurt like hell. No worries though because my eye is back to normal now. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I'm just happy I'm all better!

Anyways, Halloween is in less than a week and I still don't know what to dress-up as! Such a dilemma, right? Well, to help me decide I put together a few outfits inspired by the Pretty Little Liars' costumes.

I was going to use Polyvore, my number one go-to for creating outfits, but I found out about Looklet. Thanks Mimi for tweeting about it! Looklet is a Swedish website similar to Polyvore. The only difference is that you actually use a model for the clothes. I could tell you how fun it is, but you should see for yourself.

Here are some potential costumes:

Emily as an Indian Beauty

I love her costume. I'm strongly considering dressing as a Native American. Hey, I do love Pocahontas! I watched that movie like a million times when I was little. This is really easy to achieve as well. You can find an affordable fringed dress at thrift shops or you can always cut a dress that you already have. You can pair it with moccasins, a cute brown bag, a tribal necklace, and a simple headpiece to perfect the look. Oh, you can also sport a temporary armband tattoo for an extra touch!

Spencer as Mary, Queen of Scots

Now this costume is a bit hard to copy haha. Spencer is always going above and beyond. This is my second favorite out of all the PLL costumes just because it's so unique and specific. For this, you can find a vintage dress that's not too expensive or a nice vintage-looking nightgown. Then you can wear the dress with a pair of oxford flats or low heels. Of course, for accessories you can use fancy gloves, statement jewelries, and don't forget the crown. You can wear a wig as well and ta-da! You have a regal costume ready.

Aria as a Wicked Witch

This is another easy idea. Wicked Witch was my go-to costume when I was a little kid. You can wear a long or short black dress and a black coat to achieve this. Add a pop of color with a pair of red boots, pile on edgy necklaces and wear a big statement ring. You can also use gloves and fix your hair into a messy style to make your look more dramatic and scary.

Hanna as Britney Spears in the "Baby One More Time" Video

Whether you like Britney or not, this is a classic look to copy. It's easy and cute! You pretty much just wear a school uniform. You just need a white button down blouse, a plaid skirt, grey cardigan, knee high socks, and a pair of penny loafers. You can braid your hair with ribbons or you can also wear a wig if you're not blonde then wear some jewelry and you are good to go.

Alison as Lady Gaga

I personally think Ali didn't do such a good job of dressing as Lady Gaga, but it was still a cute costume. This is great if you want to be a tamer version of Lady Gaga for Halloween. You can wear inexpensive leather shorts with a corset top or just a regular black tank top, printed tights, and a leather jacket. If you are willing, you can also add studds and spikes on your leather jacket to make it look dangerous. Don't forget to use crazy jewelry, sport an outrageous hairstyle, and wear a pair of super intense heels to finish the look.

Now, I'm torn between Pocahontas or Grecian Goddess.

Review: Sephora Brilliant à Lèvres Super Shimmer Lipgloss Set.

Happy Thursday, bloggers.

Wow, where did the week go? I don't know about you guys, but this week definitely went by fast for me. I can't even believe it's Thursday again. Crazy!

I have to tell you, this past weekend was one of the most relaxing weekends of my life. I took photos, ate delicious food, watched movies, and went shopping with Natalie and Maddie. There's nothing like quality bonding time with the older sisters!

I'll do a haul to show you guys the stuff I got over the weekend in another post, but for now here is a quick review.

Precious Pink. Rosy Glow. Bronzed Beauty.

This lipgloss set was the free gift from Sephora I got last year for my birthday. I am barely using the lipglosses because I totally forgot I had them! Fortunately, they're still good to use.

The swatches for Precious Pink, Rosy Glow, and Bronzed Beauty.

You can use these alone or on top of your lipstick. I like using them alone when I'm just out and about during the day, and then I use them on top of my lipstick when I go out to dinner or when I attend a party.

They are not sticky and I really like the colors. They also last for a long time, which is always a plus.

I like using Precious Pink and Bronzed Beauty because they have a lot of shimmer, but Rosy Glow is nice to wear too - especially when I'm going for a simpler look.

Monthly Movie Picks: October.

Happy Thursday night, darlings.

One more day then it's the weekend. Another weekend dedicated to relaxation and having fun. Do you have any special plans? :)

I also want to say thank you so much for all the sweet comments I got on my last post. Damn, I feel loved!

Moving on, since I am an intense movie lover I decided that I will post a monthly movie picks. Doesn't that sound fun? I figured since I always look up new films to see anyway that I would share them with you.

So, here goes my movie picks for the month of October:

Release Date: October 7th

An idealistic staffer for a newbie presidential candidate gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail. Based on the play by Beau Willimon.

This is definitely number 1 on my must-see list. It looks interesting. Even though it's another film concerning politics, it looks promising. Not to mention it has a superb cast including George Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Marisa Tomei.

The Ides of March was also the opening film at the 68th Venice International Film Festival and was shown at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.

Release Date: October 14th

City kid Ren McCormack moves to a small town where rock 'n' roll and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace.

I doubt this version of Footloose will outshine the original, but it doesn't mean I won't watch it. It still looks relatively good and I want to see the impressive dancing. Newcomer Kenny Wormald isn't bad to look at either!

Release Date: October 21st

In 1988, young sisters Katie and Kristi befriend an invisible entity who resides in their home.

I can't wait to watch this! The second movie totally spooked me and I can't wait to see how all the haunting started. It's going to be so interesting to see what really happened. I'm always so fascinated with documentary type movies.

Release Date: October 28th

In the future people stop aging at 25 and must work to buy themselves more time, but when a young man finds himself with more time than he can imagine he must run from the corrupt police force to save his life.

This movie is so crazy. I am loving the whole concept. The idea of time as a substitute for money and time being your lifeline is just so intense. I also find it so funny that Olivia Wilde is the mom of Justin Timberlake's character haha. Gotta love psychological thrillers!

Release Date: October 28th

A British college student falls for an American student, only to be separated from him when she's banned from the U.S. after overstaying her visa.

I am a fan of indie films so I'm sure I will like this one. It's sweet and sad at the same time. I can't even imagine how painful it must be to be separated from your soulmate. I hope they end up together in the end. Like Crazy took home a couple of awards at the Sundance Film Festival.

Happy Monday, my friends.

What is up with you guys? How was the weekend? Any funny, sad, happy, weird, random, interesting story to tell me? Like always, I would love to know.

1. I am a ring hoarder. I am just obsessed with rings. I think they are the best accessories ever! I wear them all the time. I especially like cocktail rings with huge designs.

2. I like to eat ice cream/frozen yogurt even though it's already freezing cold. Yeah, I'm weird haha.

3. My favorite childhood cartoon character is Bubbles from Powerpuff Girls. I love how she can be adorable and badass at the same time!

4. I prefer having guy friends to girl friends. I just think guys are so much easier to get along with. I mean, I love having girl friends too. My two bff are girls. I just think sometimes girls are too much drama. Ya know?

5. I want to ride on a hot air balloon. Preferably at night. I don't know if I have ever tried riding one before, but I don't remember so I need to go do that.

6. I love going to used bookstores. I think they're so interesting and I love finding a good old book to read. One of my favorite books is The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom. Pick it up if you haven't yet. It's so good!

7. I eat my cheese pizza folded hot dog bun style. Does that make sense? I don't know how to explain it lol.

8. I just love going to carnivals/festivals. I love everything about it. The yummy food, the exciting rides, the colorful lights, and the fun games are the best. The carnival atmosphere is also always so lively and romantic.

Obsession: Elie Saab.

Happy Thursday!

Now, I know most of you have already been swooning (one of my favorite words) over Paris Fashion Week like me. I mean, who doesn't love fashion and clothes? One of my favorite designers is Elie Saab.

A little background information: Elie Saab is a Lebanese fashion designer. He launched his Beirut-based fashion label at the age of 18. His main workshop is in Lebanon and he has others in Milan and Paris. Saab was self-trained. He discovered his passion for sewing and designing at a young age. He got his big break after he became the first Lebanese designer to dress an Oscar winner, Halle Berry, in 2002.

He's pretty amazing, right? It's awesome that he was able to launch his first fashion label when he was my age. That's dedication. I am absolutely smitten (another favorite word) with Elie Saab's designs. I think all of his creations are just perfect. Seriously, if I ever get the chance to attend the Oscars (and hopefully get nominated for an Oscar!), I want to wear one of his designs.

It's no surprise his new collection is another success. The man is very talented. This new line is all about colors. It's filled with bright ensembles that are of course, red-carpet-worthy.

I went gaga when I saw the collection! It's sexy, but still posh. I am just falling in love with every detail. The sequins, sheer layers, and lace embroideries are exactly my cup of tea.

How was your weekend? Did you go anywhere interesting? Did you try something new? Tell me everything.

Update: I am currently in my bedroom typing away in my laptop wearing my comfy grey sweats and my pink cardigan. Yes, fall is officially here in Los Angeles. The air is already chilly and I don't mean just in the morning and at night. It also starts to get dark really early. I'm happy that finally it feels like fall here. I'm so excited to wear oversized sweaters, long cardigans, colorful scarves, comfy leggings, and cute boots!

Although I'm really happy it's cold now, the weather reports we've been having also bothers me. There has been a lot of talks of a storm hitting LA and a possible snow. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see snow for the first time in my life, but I think I speak for everyone in LA when I say that we are not prepared for a storm and snow! Wow, I am just hoping things wouldn't get too out of control if those happen.

Now, here is a song you guys should listen to. Ricky told me about it and I have been listening to it for weeks now. I've noticed that my brother and I both like the same type of music. We are always telling each other about new songs we discover. Haha, I love my brother. He is always, always making me obsess with different songs!

Review: NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Loose Eyeshadow.

Happy Thursday, lovely bloggers!

How was your day? Mine went well. Today I feel relaxed and calm. I love this kind of day. I just love it when I don’t worry about silly little things and when I get to really enjoy the small pleasures of life. For example, eating sweet rice balls my momma got me.

Also, yesterday I celebrated my second year of being a pescetarian! I’m so happy I lasted this far. It feels incredible and I’m proud of myself. It’s definitely a big accomplishment for me. Ever since I chose to be a pescetarian, I feel healthier and happier. So, there is no way I’m quitting now. :)

With those out of the way, I want to share another review with you guys. How about a makeup review?

True Purple Pearl and Turquoise Pearl

It’s not hard to sparkle with one of our ultra-shimmering loose shadow powders that can be used on eyes, cheeks, even lips. These finely-milled mineral eye shadows are high-impact, long-lasting—and a little addictive.

I decided to do a dry swatch for the two because they’re more wearable dry especially for achieving a day look. I also have yet to try these wet using my MAC Fix+.

Pros: The eyeshadows are light so they’re easy to wear and I like that both shimmer. I also like that they're jewel tones, making them good for fall.

I used the turquoise when I met up with my friends for lunch a couple of weeks ago. The vibrant color brightened my eyes and it gave me a fresh look. The purple is a bit darker so it works great for night. I used it for a party paired with a simple light pink dress. It gave me a very girly and flirty look.

Con: The eyeshadows are really powdery so application can get a little messy especially if used dry.

Overall: I liked both products. I think the colors are fun and they are affordable. I’m a fan of NYX products so it's no surprise that I liked these.

I like this a lot! I could totally see myself rocking out this look on a night out in the city.

If I want to go for a dramatic look, this is the one.

This is cute. It’s not too much and it’s perfect for a day out. I like how Teen Vogue model, Chanel Iman, kept it simple by using a lighter shade of blue.

I am so doing this. I can use both eyeshadows I bought to get this look. I am loving the color combination!
